The cold season brings to our children not only the joy of playing snowballs, skiing on ice hills, celebrations of the New Year, but also a threat to health. The main factors leading to the decline of the body’s protective properties in winter are: negative temperature, the transition from cold to a warm room, wind, vitamin deficiency, decrease in the number of sunny days, seasonal flu. Parents want to see their child healthy and rosy, playing on the street, and not temperature, with rhinitis, frozen fingers of the house in bed.
How to protect your child from diseases in the cold season?
Flu. The season begins in the fall and lasts until the middle of winter. In Russia, every fourth child is ill with flu annually. This disease causes many problems both in the child, in the form of fever, muscle pain, weakness and poor mood, and in his parents, who are forced to take leave on the care. The most unpleasant flu is its complications: pneumonia, inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis), acute sinusitis, diseases of the central nervous system. Each of the complications can significantly shake health and affect the whole life. Accordingly, the protection against influenza must be taken care of in advance.
How to prepare for seasonal flu?
The first is vaccination that will prepare the immune system. The influenza virus is changing annually, at the same time, doctors prepare a new vaccine.
Also make sure that the child is more often in the air, ate quite diverse food. If the child’s body does not receive the necessary vitamins, not only flu, but other infections will easily overcome the immune system. You can add polyvitamins to the diet.
As soon as information about the flu appeared, put a mask on the child. Explain him the need to wear her at school and change her every two hours. If one of the family members is sick, wear masks at home.
What to do if the child is sick? Go to the doctor! Take your vacation, consult your pediatrician and strictly follow all the recommendations. The problem is that it is precisely those children who do not receive treatment or are treated with “grandmother’s” methods that are more likely to suffer from complications.
Nosik. The cause of the common cold in winter is the cold air that dries the mucous membrane of the nose, after which it can become inflamed. Various infections take root very well on the inflamed surface. In extreme cases, ordinary runny nose can end with sinusitis, sinusitis or pneumonia. How to help a child if he complains about a runny nose or dry nose? Let’s start with clothes: the neck and lower third of the face should be well closed by the scarf. The nasal passages before walking can be lubricated with vaseline oil (it has no smell and is rarely accompanied by allergic reactions). We strengthen immunity with power, polyvitams, walks in the fresh air. We sit at home at minus.

Here you can choose inexpensively corresponding to our winter temperatures pretty children’s boots. As soon as the child comes home, dress him in dry clothes. Eyes. Bright winter sun often causes lacrimation. Children, as a rule, try to rub their eyes with their hands, which before that the snowman was sculpted. As a result, conjunctivitis may develop, which in the future will lead to visual impairment. To cope with this problem, we explain to the child that you can’t touch your eyes with dirty hands.
